When a business owner asks how to prepare for AI search, the conversation often jumps straight to prompts, mentions, and rankings. A recent website review started with something more practical: making sure the business’s online presence was accurate, accessible to search systems, and useful to the people visiting it.

That review became the foundation of our new AI Visibility & Website Health service. Here is what we checked, what changed, and what the results actually tell us.

Start with the business facts

Can someone quickly understand what you do, where you work, and how to reach you? Does that information agree across your website and business listings?

For this review, we confirmed the business’s founding date, ownership, and service areas. We corrected structured business information so it reflected those verified facts.

This is a useful starting point for any business. Outdated dates, unclear services, and conflicting contact information create avoidable confusion.

Check what search systems can actually reach

We checked the site’s robots instructions, sitemap accessibility, page responses, canonical URLs, indexing directives, and implemented structured data. All 52 page and article URLs in the sitemaps returned HTTP 200 in the final recheck.

HTTP 200 means the server successfully returned the requested page. It does not prove that Google has indexed it, that the page ranks, or that an AI system will cite it. Keeping those distinctions clear makes an audit more useful.

Look beyond appearance

A website can look polished while still having loading or usability problems. Our review identified opportunities in image delivery, script loading, contrast, link labels, heading structure, and mobile layout stability. We also corrected contact links.

We kept the existing design and made targeted repairs, then inspected navigation and the contact form layout. Checking that a form renders is different from confirming that a submitted inquiry reaches an inbox; that delivery test needs its own verification.

Measure the changes—and explain the limits

The recorded results showed mobile performance improving from 59 to 94 and automated accessibility from 88 to 100 in the before-and-after PageSpeed lab tests. Desktop performance improved from 88 to 100.

The final mobile test recorded a first contentful paint of 0.9 seconds, largest contentful paint of 3.0 seconds, and cumulative layout shift of 0.006. The results improved, but mobile loading still had room for refinement.

These measurements describe individual lab tests on October 12, 2026. Scores varied during the work, and a perfect automated accessibility score does not certify complete accessibility. We did not use these results to claim higher rankings, more leads, or increased AI recommendations.

AI readiness is a foundation, not a promise

Clear service descriptions, accurate business details, accessible pages, and a usable website are sensible foundations for your online presence. They do not guarantee inclusion in AI answers.

When direct AI benchmarking is part of an engagement, the questions and responses need to be observed in the named systems and recorded with their date and sources. A regular search result is a separate signal. These website repair results were not a cross-platform AI visibility study.

What business owners can check first

  • Are your main services and service areas clear on your website?
  • Do your business details agree across relevant listings?
  • Can mobile visitors read the page and find a contact option easily?
  • Do important links go to the right pages?
  • Do you have evidence behind technical findings, rather than assumptions?

You do not need to understand every technical term to take the next step. A good review should translate findings into priorities and practical work.
