The design challenge
An arts nonprofit website needs to convey the energy of its work while helping different visitors find their next step. Artists need opportunity details, audiences want to explore projects, and donors need to understand how their support connects to the mission.
For ArtSpan NOLA, the experience brings visual storytelling and practical information together, with direct navigation to projects, grants, the team, and donations.
The website experience
01 / Put art and community at the center
The homepage leads with large-scale imagery and a message about relationships between artists and communities. A centered gold-and-black logo, restrained navigation, and generous image areas give the work a strong visual presence while introducing the organization’s New Orleans roots.
02 / Give creative projects room to tell their stories
A visual projects index introduces murals, residencies, photography, film, and collaborative programs. Individual project pages provide space to explore each initiative, while an artist testimonial adds a participant’s perspective to the program overview.
03 / Make artist opportunities easier to explore
The grants page gathers general funding, documentary film, travel and residency, and photography book opportunities in one place. A general application form asks artists about their project, community connection, execution plan, and support needs. A homepage grant highlight provides another route into current opportunities.
04 / Turn interest into participation and support
The finished website
The ArtSpan NOLA website design gives the organization a home for creative work and participation. Visitors can discover projects, explore artist opportunities, submit a general grant application, and choose a way to support the mission.
The finished experience connects the organization’s visual identity with the everyday needs of artists, audiences, and donors.
